Modular Spreader Beam for Bridge Construction

Anyone who gets around Melbourne would have seen the works going on at the Swan Street Bridge.

With the additional east bound lane for traffic plus separate pedestrian and cyclist paths and improved crossings underway. Fitzgerald Constructions recently hired one of our 85t modular spreader beams used in the lifting of concrete sections being cut and removed from the existing bridge by a crawler on a barge. Being one of Melbourne’s busiest road corridors the bridge remains open to traffic with 60,000 cars using the bridge per day, works are scheduled for completion in late 2017.
