Cruise Ship Load Testing of Platforms and Gangways
We recently provided our Seaflex Lifeboat Test Kit with a company technician to work with a UK based service provider to undertake load testing of platforms and gangways on a cruise ship whilst at Berth in Adelaide, South Australia.
Our technician made the drive across to Adelaide with the water bags and associated gear and with the service technician completed in a 12-hour window load tests to four loading platforms and five aluminium gangways, the 375lt. water bags were ideal for this application as we filled the bags with seawater from the ships fire system all measured by the calibrated flow metre and drained the water out via the bellows pump back to sea. In their empty form, the water bags and hoses were easily moved around the ship on small porters trolleys allowing the work to progress quickly and this included moving between floors via the internal lifts.
For any maritime load testing in Australian waters please contact Dynamic Rigging Hire, we hold only the genuine British made Seaflex water load bags, Straightpoint load cells and all manner of rigging gear to undertake testing to cranes, jibs, davits, lifeboats, platforms, accommodation ladders and gangways. Our technicians have MSIC cards and we can upon approval dry hire only to service providers with experienced technicians, we do though find working with the service provider makes for an overall better job and happy Captains.
