1000t Bridge Lift: Supporting the North East Link Project

In April 2026, Melbourne witnessed a landmark engineering achievement with the installation of an 865t steel bridge over the Eastern Freeway at Bulleen. As a critical component of the major North East Link Project, this bridge installation stands as one of the heaviest crane lifts ever conducted in the region.

Dynamic Rigging Hire was proud to be engaged directly with the project in mid-2025 to assist with the complex lift designs and to develop an extensive, custom-engineered rigging arrangement.

Given the unprecedented scale of this lift, much of the necessary equipment was not readily available in Australia. To meet the rigorous demands of the project, Dynamic Rigging Hire made a significant investment in heavy-lift assets, including:

• Two 700t Spreader Beams: Engineered for extreme load distribution.
• 20 shackles in 400t and 500t capacities
• Custom designed link plates
• HMPE round slings up to 410t WLL
